Munich, August 05, 2025 | DFGE – Institute for Energy, Ecology and Economy is deepening its strategic partnership with EcoVadis, the global standard for resilient, sustainable supply chains. As part of this expanded collaboration, DFGE will take on a more active role in three new areas: co-commercialisation of enterprise solutions, supplier engagement, and, exclusively, the Retail Impact Initiative under the umbrella of the EcoVadis Sector Initiatives.
For over a decade, DFGE has been an official EcoVadis partner, supporting companies across the DACH region in their journey toward sustainable transformation of supply chains. This extended partnership reaffirms the shared commitment of both organizations to anchor sustainability in global supplier networks in a practical, measurable, and impactful way.
“Comprehensive sustainability ratings are a cornerstone for implementing sustainability across global supply chains,” says Dr.-Ing. Thomas Fleissner, founder and CEO of DFGE. “By strengthening our collaboration with EcoVadis, we can offer companies even more targeted support in meeting regulatory and stakeholder requirements, mitigating risks, and driving sustainable improvements.”
Three New Pillars of Collaboration
1. Co-Commercialisation of EcoVadis Enterprise Solutions
As the sole EcoVadis commercial partner in the DACH region, DFGE now offers the full range of EcoVadis enterprise solutions that go beyond the traditional assessment model. These tools enable companies to holistically manage and mitigate sustainability risks throughout their supply chains:
- Risk Identification: IQ Plus provides comprehensive risk mapping based on country and industry data.
- Data Enrichment: The Vitals Questionnaire captures regulatory-relevant information, including for compliance with the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG).
- Validated Assessment: EcoVadis Ratings and the Carbon Action Module deliver deep sustainability and climate performance insights.
- Corrective Actions: A structured Corrective Action Plan supports the implementation of concrete improvements.
- Reporting: Interactive dashboards and BAFA-compliant reporting tools ensure clear and effective internal and external communication.
2. Supplier Engagement: Webinars for First-Time Suppliers
To support first-time suppliers undergoing the EcoVadis assessment, DFGE will serve as a key partner in delivering tailored webinars throughout the DACH region. These sessions will be designed to introduce suppliers to the EcoVadis methodology, explain the assessment process from start to finish, and highlight the benefits of participating in a rating exercise.
3. Sector Initiative: Retail Impact Initiative
Within the framework of EcoVadis’ Sector Initiatives, DFGE is now the exclusive implementation partner for the Retail Impact Initiative. This initiative aims to enhance transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement within the retail supply chain. DFGE will support member companies through webinars, workshops, and action planning to help implement shared standards.
“DFGE has been a trusted partner for over 10 years, supporting our clients in the DACH region with expertise and dedication,” says Annette, Senior Vice President – Alliances & Partnerships. “With this expanded partnership, we’re opening up new pathways together to effectively integrate sustainable practices into supply chains – from supplier onboarding to enterprise-wide management.”
