Carbon Neutrality
The carbon neutrality of products and/or companies becomes part of your corporate goals as part of a climate strategy. The Science Based Targets (SBT) initiative already offers initial scenarios with which you can even develop your company into a “net zero” and, in the best case, “climate positive”. Since complete avoidance of CO2 emissions throughout the value chain is difficult to achieve, companies can invest in climate protection projects and offset their residual emissions by purchasing certificates. To avoid green washing, this should always be based on a science-based calculation of the carbon footprint in addition climate protection projects should be chosen carefully.
DFGE – as the only partner of the CDP for Science Based Targets (SBT) – supports you holistically and according to scientific standards in the topic of climate strategy. Starting with the assessment of your carbon footprint using the proven DFGE top-down approach, through the setting of targets and identification of CO₂ reduction potentials, the avoidance of CO₂ emissions, all the way to CO₂ reporting. For unavoidable residual emissions, we support you in selecting and purchasing certified climate protection projects.
Important: As of September 27, 2026, product-related claims such as “climate-neutral” or “CO₂-neutral” that are based on the purchase of offset credits may no longer be used in communications with consumers. However, it remains possible to provide transparent, separate information about supported climate protection projects.
