On the 20th of September 2017, buyers and suppliers using EcoVadis will be gathered to share best practices around sustainability/CSR in Düsseldorf. DFGE, German partner of EcoVadis, sponsors the event and offers a workshop on how to improve EcoVadis participation.
Greifenberg/Munich, 8th August 2017 – DFGE – Institute for Energy, Ecology and Economy – was founded in 1999 as a spin-off of the Technical University of Munich and offers complete consulting, software and audit solutions in the field of sustainability. DFGE partners with internationally-recognized reporting frameworks to better support companies in their sustainability management and reporting, including EcoVadis since December 2015.
1 – EcoVadis, a sustainability platform between suppliers and buyers
EcoVadis operates the first collaborative platform providing Supplier Sustainability Ratings for global supply chains. More than 25,000 companies use EcoVadis’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assessment which provides a rating and scorecard on their environmental, social/labor, and ethical practices.
EcoVadis is in between buyers and suppliers: the buyers request the suppliers to be assessed by EcoVadis, and after the suppliers have gone through the assessment, the scores can then be used by the buyers according to the supplier engagement strategy of their companies.
To reinforce the bonds between suppliers and buyers around the topic of sustainability, dedicated events are organized at local level, including the Supplier CSR Day.
2 – Supplier CSR Day, opportunity to share best practices
The event will take place on Wednesday, September 20th, from 8.00 AM to 5.00 PM, in Düsseldorf. The exact venue is Hilton Düsseldorf, Georg-Glock-Strasse 20, Düsseldorf, 40474.
The goal is to bring buyers and their suppliers together to build stronger relationships through one day of best practices on CSR and sustainability. Purchasing organizations include for example Bekaert, Henkel or Bpost.
Such best practice sharing is made through keynotes and panel sessions in the morning and workshops in the afternoon. The panels will for instance investigate the value of being assessed or how to use supplier ratings in the procurement processing. There will be a round table on CSR best practices.
During the afternoon workshops, sessions feature for example:
- What Legislations are coming? How to act? How to Respond?
- How to build and boost your CSR/Sustainability profile
- Understanding the EcoVadis methodology and assessment
3 – DFGE to sponsor the event and run a workshop
DFGE, Institute for Energy, Ecology and Economy, is the partner of EcoVadis for the German-speaking region. As a sponsor of the event, DFGE will run a workshop in English and then in German.
The workshop is about Modularity between CSR reporting standards, e.g. the links which can be made with EcoVadis and other sustainability/CSR standards and frameworks. In other words, DFGE will provide practical examples and recommendations on how to reuse existing documentation and practices to improve the EcoVadis answer, and how to make the most the EcoVadis questionnaire.
4 – How to register
If interested, companies can register through this link and also consult the Agenda. http://www2.ecovadis.com/supplier-day-dfge . The event costs 50€ per person.
