From the 1st of April 2020, invited companies can open the DJSI CSA. To be eligible to the DJSI, a sustainable stock index, organizations need to fill the CSA – Corporate Sustainability Assessment from the company RobecoSAM together with S&P Global. Below you find the key information as well as further useful links about the DJSI CSA 2020. Due to the current situation the timeline was adjusted this year, which gives companies two additional months for the assessment.
The DJSI CSA: The best way to be selected in the DJSI
If you want to make it to the DJSI World, you need to be part of the top 10% of the 2,500 largest companies in the S&P Global Broad Market Index (source RobecoSAM). To maximize your chances of being selected, you should answer the CSA.
The DJSI CSA questionnaire covers more than 60 industries and over 3 dimensions: Economic, Environment and Social, with questions and criteria weighted by industry. The contents revolves around policies, governance mechanisms, actions and processes as well as KPIs, with a maximum score of 100 per question. In the nex step the answer options within each question are scored individually or in combination, with the total sum resulting in a maximum of 100 points.
After the questionnaires are submitted by the participants, they are analysed and rated by the company RobecoSAM, an investment specialist focused exclusively on Sustainability Investing. Companies who do not take part or decline to take part in the CSA are also rated based on their public information. In 2019, 3,519 companies were invited, of which 2,296 were analysed, with 1,116 based on the CSA and 1,180 based exclusively on public information. You find more information on the most recent results here.
