Munich, 16 February 2024 | DFGE – Institute for Energy, Ecology and Economy – announces they are extending their partnership with EcoVadis, the globally-trusted provider of business sustainability ratings, with the aim of supporting companies and their supply chains in their sustainability activities.
For 9 years and as the first official DACH training partner of EcoVadis DFGE has been supporting companies in presenting their ESG and sustainability performance in the EcoVadis rating format. This strong partnership has now been extended for a further three years to further improve the sustainability performance of companies and their value chains.
EcoVadis, a global leader in business sustainability performance assessment, helps organisations comply with supply chain due diligence regulations, mitigate risks, build resilience, and promote responsible business practices across their value chains. EcoVadis ratings evaluate companies’ ESG performance in the four areas of environment, labour & human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement, providing transparency in the disclosure of a company’s increasingly important sustainability practices. By embedding the supply chain, potential for improvement is better recognised and sustainability goals are achieved. Since becoming a strategic partner of EcoVadis, DFGE has seen tremendous growth in EcoVadis projects. Both companies are now extending their close partnership for another three years.
“We very much welcome the extension of our strategic partnership and are delighted to have such an experienced partner at our side to support our customers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in improving their performance,” states Tanja Reilly, Senior Strategic Business Development Manager, EcoVadis.
As ESG experts, the DFGE teams work closely with companies to holistically improve their sustainability performance from strategy to implementation. Scientifically sound recording, analysis, and subsequent documentation of all ESG aspects in the EcoVadis rating led to reliable sustainability strategies and implementation and thus to transparency for all stakeholders.
DFGE provides companies with individual and customised support for their EcoVadis participation. DFGE’s services for EcoVadis range from training for companies and supply chains, modular consulting, or calculations such as carbon footprints to turnkey holistic support in the EcoVadis rating.
This sound basis combined with the necessary transparency is becoming increasingly important for companies, particularly due to current regulations such as the German Supply Chain Act (LkSG) and the European CSRD (reporting obligation). This is precisely where an EcoVadis rating can help to categorise corporate ESG management to uncover strengths as well as areas for improvement and thus provide guidance for the upcoming regulations.
“The importance of transparent and reliable sustainability ratings has increased significantly in recent years, and we are pleased to see that more and more customers are achieving real added value through their EcoVadis rating. We are even more pleased that the commitment of our customers is also steadily increasing. Many companies are aiming for a Gold or even Platinum medal in their participations,” explains Dr.-Ing. Thomas Fleissner, founder and Managing Director of DFGE. “We are proud that a significant number of our customers have been recognised with the most coveted awards from EcoVadis for their sustainability activities.”
DFGE regularly offers free EcoVadis webinars for beginners to build up expertise in companies – and together with EcoVadis experts, DFGE also explains deep dives into selected topics in specific webinars to make the classification of an EcoVadis rating in the ESG topic area easier to understand.
