Greifenberg/Munich, February 17, 2025 | DFGE – Institute for Energy, Ecology and Economy is pleased to announce its official recognition as a “Friend of EFRAG” in the field of sustainability reporting. This recognition underlines DFGE’s commitment to transparent and standardized sustainability reporting and its support of the mission of the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG).
EFRAG has launched the “Friends of EFRAG” initiative to offer organizations the opportunity to express their individual support for EFRAG’s mission and reporting activities.
As a long-standing player in sustainability management, emissions calculations and environmental reporting, DFGE supports companies in meeting international standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), participating in reporting initiatives such as the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), integrating supply chains through EcoVadis or setting climate targets with the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). The aim of DFGE is to support companies on their path to more sustainable business practices and to strengthen their economic and social responsibility in the process.
The harmonization of reporting standards at European and international level is crucial to ensure comparability, transparency and credibility. EFRAG is working to align the ESRS with global benchmarks to improve international comparability. With this in mind, DFGE welcomes EFRAG’s mandate to drive the development of ambitious, clear and relevant standards such as the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) as part of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
Dr.-Ing. Thomas Fleissner, founder and Managing Director of DFGE, emphasizes: “It is a great honour for us to be recognized as a ‘Friend of EFRAG’. This award confirms our commitment to fact-based sustainability over the last 25 years. The collaboration with EFRAG enables us to actively participate in the design of future reporting standards and to contribute our expertise, ultimately providing our clients with even better holistic support in the changing regulatory environment and the adaptation of reporting standards. Our task is to “translate” the complexity of the regulations for our clients into the essential and important tasks for greater sustainability.”
The sustainability reporting standards developed by EFRAG make it easier for companies to integrate ESG criteria into their financial reporting. Reports based on these standards provide stakeholders such as investors, banks and potential employees with a more comprehensive and transparent view of a company’s sustainability performance. EFRAG provides technical expertise, access and guidance to help companies implement the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). EFRAG’s support helps companies to better prepare for upcoming sustainability reporting requirements while improving their own sustainability performance.
